I enjoyed reading your post! ...Hi Kaitlyn Burgess,

I enjoyed reading your post! It’s very thoughtful and interesting to know your opinion about each matter. I agree with you with most of your worries on each of them too.

The iSchool is awesome and will be helpful in the long run but there is always a problem for everything that exists. The whole cheating aspect will happen. I say this because there is always a way to work around technology. It’s like the iPhone. People can easily hire or learn to jailbreak it. It is illegal but it happens. Because more and more students will learn about technology and on how to use it, the percentage of students who will find work-around will be even higher. To me, a way to counter it is if the people who create the hardware or software for iSchool to be more quick-witted than the majority of the population. It’s okay though. When there is software, there are always update to fix problems or “bugs”. There isn’t much to worry about unless it’s just poorly designed.

Your links, breaks, images are well done! I have to point out that you are missing a “title” code for the 3rd image (the one for “Teaching in the 21st Century). You could also use some more high-level vocabulary than using the word “stuff”. I am not saying you didn’t throughout your post but should do more. I am kind of hypocritical about this one because I use that word a lot too! There are a couple of places where punctuations should be placed but proof-reading more can fix it. For example, in the beginning of the post you wrote, “First of all, after watching The iSchool Initiative and Travis Allen's ZeitgeistYoungMinds entry I am amazed at the fact that this is an idea of a high school…”. There should be a comma after “entry”.

Either way, great job on the rest and keep up the good work!

Anna ZhuoAnna Z.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09910281885492487809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4596272223590704412.post-21063578745652942122012-10-02T12:57:50.138-07:002012-10-02T12:57:50.138-07:00"I know when I was in high school, websites l..."I know when I was in high school, websites like Facebook were blocked, but tons of people knew how to manipulate the system to get on it anyway." Re Facebook: Is it any different in college? Can we teach students to be responsible or not? This week 16% of EDM310 students did not do their blog post on time. twenty-seven percent dod not do their My Sentence assignment on time. What do you think? Can we teach students to be responsible? I doubt facebook is the explanation for the EDM310 students' work habits.

And cheating. How much occurs in your college classes? One of the best ways to undermine cheating is to have students do projects. Another is to let it happen and ultimately the student will pay by not getting or losing a job.

"At the same time however, there are some things, such as learning to read and math, that are more effective when taught traditionally--by the teacher. " Really? Have you heard of the Kahn Academy? Check it out. You may be convinced to retract what you have written. At least for math.

Thorough, thoughtful, well written! I think your blog post is amazing. I ...Hi, Kaitlyn. I think your blog post is amazing. I think you and I both are excited about the future of the education system. I agree with your concerns about cheating and the student's ability to stay focus, but reading your concerns made me think of my own concerns. It made me question teacher roles in the future and made me wonder if technology would get so advanced to the point where technology would replace us (future teachers). Scary, I know. As a whole your blog post was fun and exciting to read. Keep up the great work and may God bless you in your success!Ardrianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13653375898609236411noreply@blogger.com
